WEEKLY PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER TEAM UPDATE

Click Here to HOMENATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER IS COMING MAY 5th! Mark your calendars...

There is so much to pray for in our country and around the world. I would like to recommend that you set aside at least one day when you pray for our nation and our leaders bot from your political view from releasing and lifting them to God and God's will and guidance. I am just listing a few current key prayer prompts, but I suggest highly being part, or receiving email updates, of the Presidential Prayer Team... from PRAYER TOOLS

Pray For President Obama & Administration
Pray for President Obama and his advisers as they work on foreign and domestic policies

Pray For Congressional Leaders
Pray for our lawmakers as they return from their Easter recess next week with full agendas to
consider.

Pray For Judicial Needs
Pray for each Supreme Court Justice as he or she deliberates and write their opinions.

Pray for Current Events
THE WARS Pray for our military men and women who are serving in combat roles and the contractors who support them.
TERRORISM Pray about the duplicity of the issue of Syria's tyranny and concurrent membership on the Human Rights Council.
THE ECONOMY Pray that our nation will enter a time of sustainable economic recovery and steady growth.
ISRAEL and the MIDDLE EAST Pray about the general level of unrest on "the Arab street" and the repercussions experienced by Israel.
HEALTH CARE Pray about the need to cost containment in the health care industry.

The prayer update also includes an Executive Prayer Focus, a Legislative Prayer Focus, Armed Forces Prayer Focus, Judicial Prayer Focus, "Inside Washington", Presidential Quote, Prayer 101 and Viewpoint among other interesting articles like "Morality in America".

I just have to share Today's Devotional "PEOPLE OVER POLICY":

"You probably know the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15). One son left, one son stayed; the younger son squandered his fortune but, realizing his mistakes, returned, and the father celebrated; his older son got angry, feeling that his father never treated him as well as his brother who wasted his inheritance. The obvious implication: the Heavenly Father accepts the repentant heart, but Paul’s discourse in Acts 28 says more.

Let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.

Acts 28:28
The sons who stayed and left, respectively, can represent the Jews and Gentiles. Israel despised the Gentiles due to their alleged “inferiority.” However, the Father welcomed the Gentiles when Israel was still following His law. The difference was the heart of each. One was restored as a loving son; the other became angry and bitter. In the end, the Jewish leaders forgot God’s purposes for His way of salvation, prioritizing instead rules and regulations in their dealings with others.
Like Israel, America’s leadership has sometimes treated legislation itself as being more important than the citizens for whom the laws were created.
Pray that Congress not forget the reason they’ve been given authority…and that they would prioritize Godly values over special interests."

PRAYER 101 is the last of a 4 part teaching series: God's Love...and its impact on your prayers

The April Prayer 101 series discusses just four characteristics of God:
Lesson 1 – (April 7)  His omnipotence – He is all-powerful
Lesson 2 - (April 14)  His omniscience – He is all-knowing
Lesson 3 – (April 21)  His omnipresence – He is all-present
Lesson 4 - (April 28)  He is love – all the time
I really love the conclusion that Jeana Kamp writes:
"Beloved One, as you pray and study God’s Word, realize that Christ Jesus came in love. He came to reflect the image of God and be an example to you. Now you are called to reflect His love to others. Be motivated to no longer live for yourself but for Him.
(II Corinthians 5:14-15).
If you feel far from God, remember Christ’s parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) and come back to the One who loves you and will welcome you with open arms. Know you can come home to the Lord who is passionate over you…whose love never grows cold."
Jeana gives many characteristics of the Lord for us to relate to the impact they should have on us and the way we pray such as:

  • Keep yourself in the love of God, allowing Christ to keep you refreshed and renewed in the power of His love (Jude 21-23)
  • Pray with confidence, knowing that God will graciously give you all things (Romans 8:31-32)
  • Be convinced that nothing will be able to separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39)

Lord, I thank You for the breath of life You have given me. I pray You will breathe new life into me today. PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 40

PLEASE PRAY FOR EMMA GRACE'S FAMILY! Emma went home with Jesus on Good Friday!
Heather, Mark and her brother and sister and family need your prayers, "Especially Heather"

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 40:  You have made it.  So with this last challenge I ask you to reflect on these words from Ephesians 3: 14 – 21 and pray a prayer of gratitude.  Then start the challenge again.

Ephesians 3:14-21
14     For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
15     from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,
16     that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
17     so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18     may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19     and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
20     Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
21     to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

A Lifetime of Love
Today we celebrate my husband's birthday with joy and much thanksgiving. As far back as we can remember the men in my husband's family died prematurely, and when our children were young I had a fear that this would be passed down to him. The Holy Spirit prompted me to pray for him from Ephesians 6. I began to thank God for my husband who always honored his mother and dad. The Word said that he would live long on the earth and it would be well with him;I chose to believe this promise. He is a man of few words, but his family can count on him to be there for them, and he is always willing to help others. Praise God! The curse of premature death has been broken in his generation. He was the first male to reach his 60th birthday, and he is now enjoying his seventies. On this day each year we celebrate his life that is dedicated to God and his family. ~ Germaine Copeland

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit who helps me pray when I don't know how or what to pray for. I affectionately and gratefully praise Your name, thanking You for answered prayer. The Holy Spirit helps me love without hypocrisy. I abhor what is evil, and cling to what is good. I will be kindly affectionate to others with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to others, not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. I rejoice in hope, patient in tribulation, and will continue steadfast in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit who takes hold together with me against my weaknesses. Amen.

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 39

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 39:  Today’s prayer challenge.  Read  Romans 8:31-39.  Then glean the essence of those verses and pray to God about your life in application to those verses.  This prayer time I ask you to know that a relationship with Jesus is essential to make it through this life with hope and confidence.

Romans 8:31-39
31     What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
32     He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
     33     Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies;
34     who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
35     Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36     Just as it is written,
For Your sake we are being put to death all day long;
We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37     But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
38     For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39     nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A Living Sacrifice

Today, I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to You, my Father-God. I will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove Your good, acceptable and perfect will for me. With Jesus' help I will continually offer my sacrifice of praise to You by telling others of the glory of Your name. I'll not forget to do good and to share what I have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to You, my Father. Amen.

PRAYERS for OVERCOMING GUILT FEELINGS ~ 5

"PRAYING GOD'S WORD" Prayers for Overcoming Ongoing Guilt Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

lead us up to today's 5th part of PRAYERS for "Overcoming Feelings of Guilt" from Beth Moore's Chapter 9 of PRAYING GOD'S WORD. (red= Beth'swords/prayers)

Today's scripture-prayers are taken from the book of Romans.

"O God, never let me show contempt for the riches of Your kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that Your kindness leads me toward repentance." (Romans 2:4)

"Lord, apart from You, there is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks You, God. All have turned away. We have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. (Romans 3:10-12) God, the righteousness that comes from You comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of You, God, and are justified freely by Your grace through the redemption that came by Your Son, Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:22-23) Help me accept that Your gift of grace has never and will never be relegated by my ability to be good and righteous. Freedom from the burden of my own sin accompanies true repentance and acceptance that Your Son's death fully pardoned me. "

Let us pause and reflect on Our precious Saviour Jesus Christ and His Crucifixion for us, our sins that separate us from God. Confess any sins and feel His forgiveness pour over you.

Now, it's your turn to PRAY GOD'S WORD from these scriptures in Romans.

Romans 3:10-12
Romans 4:7-8
Romans 8: 31;33;34;37

I hope that taking this week to practice "PRAYING GOD'S WORD" has been helpful to encourage you to continue turning God's Word into your prayers and also if you struggled with ongoing feelings of guilt that you can now be confident that if we are in Christ, we are not hopeless and if we realize we've never developed godly sorrow over certain sin, that this week we ask God to help us with this and He has and will do it, because He is faithful to His promises.

If we have repented of sin and yet guilt keeps assailing us, let's start refusing the accuser's attacks and fight back with God's Word through our prayers. He died to set us free, so let us lay that ongoing feeling of guilt at the cross this day and not take it back with us or allow the enemy to remind us of what is already forgiven, once we ask for God's forgiveness, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness... so IT IS FINISHED this day.
We are overcomers and the door has been opened to set us FREE!

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:31

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

It's Friday but Sunday's coming!
Have a BLESSED RESURRECTION DAY!

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 38

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 38:  Today’s prayer challenge.  Read  Matthew 26:36-46.  Then glean the essence of those verses and pray to God about your life in application to those verses.  This prayer time I ask you to really pour out before God like Jesus did, the very heavy and hard to bear issues of life.

Matthew 26:36-46
36     Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to His disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
37     And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed.
38     Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me.”
39     And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”
40     And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So, you men could not keep watch with Me for one hour?
41     “Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42     He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
43     Again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44     And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more.
45     Then He came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46     “Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!”

Confession of Salvation

I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the deadI am saved. For with my heart I believe unto righteousness, and with my mouth confession is made unto salvation. Father, I thank You for redeeming me from the law of sin and death. I walk after the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, and I am no longer under condemnation. I have passed from death to life! Amen!

PRAYERS for OVERCOMING GUILT FEELINGS ~ 4

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Continuing today with Part 4 of PRAYING GOD'S WORD for "Overcoming Feelings of Guilt" from Beth Moore's Chapter 9... "Overcoming Ongoing Feelings of Guilt" (red= Beth's words)

"My faithful God, sorrow has led me to repentance. I pray that I have become sorrowful as You intended and was helped rather than hurt by the confrontation of my sin. Thank You for the godly sorrow that brings repentance leading to salvation and leaving no regret." (2 Corinthians 7:9-10)

Now let us write our own prayer by choosing one of the following scripture(s) from the letters to Timothy:

1 Timothy 1:12-14
1 Timothy 1:15-17
2 Timothy 1:12
2 Timothy 2:13
2 Timothy 2:25-26

My Father and God Most High, Help me to flee all evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those who call on You, Lord, out of a pure heart. Keep me from quarrels from stupid and foolish arguments, as Your servant, I must be kind to all, able to teach and not resentful. Thank You for granting me repentance leading me to a knowledge of the truth. Thank You for causing me to come to my senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who had taken me captive to do his will. Thank You for providing a way of escape. (2 Timothy 2: 22-26)

Be sure to share a scripture-prayer in the "Prayers Lifted to God's Throne"... thanks!

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 37

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 37:  Today’s prayer challenge.  Read  Matthew 7:7-12.  Then glean the essence of those verses and pray to God about your life in application to those verses.  This should truly be a powerful and revealing prayer time for you put your life up to God’s mirror and take a look. Also think about the fact that an answer to a prayer may also be “no", or "wait”

Matthew 7:7-12
7     “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8     “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9     “Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?
10     “Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
11     “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
12     “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

More Than a Conqueror

Who shall separate me from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword? For Your sake I am killed all day long; I am accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Yet in all these things I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me. Hallelujah! PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

Declaration of Independence Signer

Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
