PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 21

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 21:  Pray for the leadership of the congregation where you worship.  Ask God to grant them wisdom to oversee the flock.  Pray that Christians will do their part to make their jobs easy.

* added resource: Revive Our Hearts has a pdf for 31 days of Praying for Your Pastor
"There is no greater gift you can give your pastor and the spiritual leaders of your church than to pray for them." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"Pastors cannot win the battle alone; they need committed intercessors to lift them up in fervent, specific prayer. Imagine how the power of God might be released in our churches if we were to pray faithfully for our pastors." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss

"Pastors are human—they face the same challenges that their people do, with some additional ones! They grow tired in ministry, are tempted to sin, and may find it difficult to balance their many roles and responsibilities. They need the encouragement and support of those  they lead." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"Prayer for your pastor is crucial to the spiritual health of your pastor, his family, and your church. God will reward your efforts to cover him in prayer." ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"If you want to encourage your spiritual leaders (and their wives!) let them know you are praying for them. Ask them periodically for any specific prayer requests and assure them you will pray accordingly. Use the following prayer guide with accompanying scriptures, to suggest practical ways to pray for those who provide spiritual leadership for the flock. " ~ Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Pray that you are not "April fooled" into thinking this challenge, if you stay with it, will not become a habit of 10 minutes at least of prayer daily. That really is not that much. We spend that easily just with one blog or visit. Doesn't God deserve so much more? You may say that God is first, but if you are not making Him first before all the rest, your blog about being Christian is for nothing. Don't be a fool, God is much more worth your time invested in "chatting" with Him than others.

Approved by God
How awesome is our God! The Living Bible says that He made you so wonderfully complex! Amazing! He understands and knows your DNA, the 30 trillion cells that make up your body! He formed every organ to serve you well all the days of your life. You and your DNA are you and you vibrate with divine energy and love. You are His marvelous workmanship; He approves of you! The Father saw you before you were born and scheduled each day of your life before you began to breathe. Every day was recorded in His book! God, the Creator of the universe, chose you, and you are precious to Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You knit me together in my mother's womb, knew me, and approved of me even before I was born. Wonderful are Your works, and I hold fast to this knowledge. I will not keep silent, but bring the Good News of relief and deliverance to others who do not know You. I was born for such a time as this to fulfill my destiny in the Kingdom of God. I take my place a member of the Body of Christ. Thank You for loving me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 20

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 20:  You are half-way there!

Thank God for the strength to make it this far and the courage and will to continue on with this challenge.

DAILY PRAYER from Germaine Copeland ... author of "Prayers that Avail Much"
Prayers That Avail Much: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition (Prayers That Avail Much) (Prayers That Avail Much)

Jesus is Alive
Even though I knew the Bible stories about Jesus, I did not know Him. I wasn't even sure that He really cared about my everyday struggles. But the day came when I understood that He died and rose again, even for me. What He's done for me, He'll do for you. Jesus is alive! He is not a myth or a fairy tale. He lives; I know He lives! He is my best Friend and my elder Brother. He is the Sun who rose with healing in His wings, my Redeemer.

PRAYER:
Praise God! Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? Jesus, I know that my Redeemer lives -- You are risen from the dead, and I am risen with You. I set my heart on things above, where You are seated at the right hand of God. Thank You Jesus! I have this assurance that even as You were taken up from among us to heaven You will come back in the same way You left. When You appear I shall be like You -- awesome! Hallelujah! Jesus is Lord!

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 19

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:
Ephesians 1:18 (60 kb)

Day 19:  Thank God for the spiritual blessings He has provided you.  Do not just run down the list of Ephesians 1, but express the sentiments behind them.  “God thank you so much for forgiveness of sins.  These past few days, I have allowed my mind to focus on immoral thoughts; I’m continually realizing how much work I need to do and the help I need.
Ephesians 1:4-5 (44 kb)

Thank you so much for being a God of second, third… chances which would not be possible if you’re plan of salvation didn’t include forgiveness.  I’m totally in debt to you and I love it because I can’t forgive myself for sinning against you.”

Ephesians 1:14 (66 kb)

Praying for Others
Do you pray for others because you want them to change to make your life easier, or because you want God to be gloified? When you pray for others, pray for them with joy. When you pray for others you are restored to a spiritual tone of heart and mind. Probably few of us have been through as much as Job of the Old Testament. He lost everything, and was attacked physically. After many months he prayed for his friends. The Lord turned his captivity and restored his fortunes; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Let's pray for one another.
Ephesians 1:16 (31 kb)

PRAYER:
In the name of Jesus, I thank God for you every time I pray. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Amen.

Ephesians 1:17-20 (88 kb)

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 18

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 18:  Pray that you will be salt and light today and that you will be a good influence to those around you today.  The average person who just lives a normal non-eventful life will influence 10,000 people in his lifetime.  People are watching you.  Ask God to allow His Spirit to be in control of your heart today, through meditated words of life.

Free From Fear
The grandmother called to talk about the fear that she lived with. She was so afraid that something dreadful might happen to her husband, children or grandchildren. How could she overcome this torment? We prayed for her family from Psalm 91. You can turn fear out of doors by declaring your faith in God's Word. Praying aloud will stop the tormenting thoughts. Believe God; He is faithful, and He watches over His word to perform it.

PRAYER:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for delivering me from the fear of death. You are with me; I will not be afraid. You are my God, and I will not be dismayed. I have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but I have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Amen.

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 17

I hope you noticed that you can now receive The Lighthouse of Prayer in your email (up in the right corner)
CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 17:  Pray about someone that you hold a grudge against or have ill feelings. Past issues that are unresolved between you. Don’t pray bad things about the person, but ask God to touch your heart with His word to think properly and resolve the issue.  Pray about being closer to your Christian family, so when you call him/her “brother or sister” in Christ it really means something.  We often want to be closer to people and we say we feel lonely or ostracized, yet we do things to push away those who desire to be close.  Ask God to help you realize and see your part in the problem.  Ask for forgiveness and the strength to reach out and connect.

Campus Crusade for Christ International started a "40 days of Worship" after we began our challenge here and so they are entering day 11-20 now as Pathway to Attentiveness... the first 10 days was Pathway to Intimacy... Here is yesterday's when they started this new Pathway:

"Rest, Rest. Rest in God's love. The only work you are required to do is to give your most intense attention to His still, small voice within." - Madame Jeanne Guyon
Day 11, Pathway to Intimacy | March 27, 2011

John 10:14-18: "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me -- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father -- and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life -- only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

The Good Shepherd knows you intimately and perfectly. Clear away the clutter of your heart, wipe away the enemy's lies and bask in this truth: He laid down His life for you.
Maybe this is a good incentive to check each morning and stir your heart for your PRAYER time.

from Saturday
Power to Heal
Do you need physical or emotional healing? Renew your mind to God's Word; He abides in you, in every cell and tissue of your body. Declare that Jesus is Lord over your spirit, soul and body. Let go of all unforgiveness, resentment, anger, and bad feelings toward anyone. God plans to prosper you and not to harm you. He plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). It is God's will to heal you, and when you pray, believe that He will do what He promised. The prayer of faith will heal the sick!

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for sending Your word to heal me and deliver me from all my destructions. Jesus, You are the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. You bore my griefs (pains) and carried my sorrows (sickness). You were pierced through for my transgressions, crushed for my iniquities, the chastening for my well-being fell upon You, and by Your scourging I am healed. Amen.

PETITIONS to GOD'S THRONE for MARCH: PART TWO

We needed to start a new March list for prayers and petitions, it was getting real long! A very special "Thanks" to Alice, From the Heart, who has taken on and stood in the gap for so many of the prayer requests, and each of us. Alice is a God send. Thank God for her today! We are lifting you in PRAYER without ceasing if you are on part one or part two of March's linky.

PLEASE URGENTLY KEEP EMMA IN PRAYER, another surgery on Sun. and lift up Heather, Mark (her parents on overload, tired, weary) and the rest of their family... STILL

especially heather

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken"
"For where two or three come together in my name,
there am I with them."
This is meant to be an interactive blog based on a comment and response system

PLEASE WRITE YOUR PRAYER, PRAYER REQUEST, PRAISE, THANKS in the place that would normally read comments after the most recent post, here it will read

"PRAYERS LIFTED TO THE THRONE of GOD."

We'd love to see your Prayer requests (Petitions) in what normally would be the Comment area, where others will be supporting you through their prayers, written as a response to your petition there.

We are encouraging you all to pray whenever you read a need of someone, so please respond here with a prayer. You need not be a team member to leave a prayer for someone or bring a prayer need here. We all can lift up a prayer for each person and encourage someone, help to carry another's burden, stand with them and bless them.

The Linky asks for a blog link (BUT you need not fill that in if you don't have a blog or the person that you are requesting prayers for does not). The intention of this is so the people will go "visit" the person to encourage them or find out more about the situation. Thank you for sharing people that you find need prayer.

If you need a prayer on "Walking in Faithfulness", I shared one here. Also Wendy, has shared a wonderful series (11 parts) from the book "Do You Pray?" by J. C. Ryle over a Faith's Firm Foundation Please take the time to check out the PRAYERS FOR JANUARY, many still need our prayers and the end of the list also of FEBRUARY'S PETITIONS TO GOD'S THRONE with important prayer requests that still need to be lifted to God's Throne for these precious ones.

Let's us MARCH to God's Throne with these petitions in the authority of Jesus Christ on behalf of one another in Jesus Name... keep pressing on in prayer, please.

BE SURE TO CHECK THE MANY ON THE FIRST LINKY ALSO!

PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 16

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here
Suggestion for today from there:

Day 16:  Pray for everyone else.  Don’t ask for one thing for yourself during your 10 minutes of prayer.  Focus on what other people need.  After you finish the prayer, figure out and take action in one way you can be an answer to the prayer.  If you prayed for God to comfort and give strength to someone, then do something to help provide comfort and strength to the person you mentioned.

If you have no "prodigals" in your life and world, PRAISE GOD and pray for the many others that do.

I'm sure that you can fill 10 minutes on others if you begin to think of prodigals, the suffering, the sick, the poor, the injustices... God knows about ALL of this but He wants to hear from His children... Give Him a call or just leave a simple prayer right here... He'll read it, I guarantee...

    PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 15

CHALLENGE TAKEN from the pdf mentioned back here

    Suggestion for today from there:

Day 15:  Pray for unity in the church.

Ask that as individuals we drop the petty opinionated issues and seek truth.  That we speak truth in love and listen more than we speak.

Ask for the ability to listen to others and be concerned about what they say instead always trying to get our side of the story heard.

Pray for wisdom and right attitude in applying God’s word to your life and as you teach others.

    PRAYER for Our Nation

This was shared in an email from the Presidential Prayer Team:

    Declaration of Independence Signer

    Samuel Chase
George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the United States

"Almighty God: We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." --

This prayer of George Washington appears in St. Paul's Chapel in New York City.
